MARIA MORENO
After
having studied Physiotherapy in the US and Spain, I decided to
complete my College education trainning to be a Pilates Teacher
with Polestar Pilates School through University Complutense of
Madrid. Polestar Pilates school is worldwide renowned for its high
standards on education and specially for its training programme for
Rehabilitation proffesionals. Having worked both as a Physio and as
a Pilates instructor and trained students in Spain for a few years,
I decided to come to the UK and keep building my career.
I started performing Rythm Gymnastics and dance when I was at
school, but due to an injury on my hip I had to stop it for a
while; it was during the rehabilitation therapy when I found my
inspiration to become a Physiotherapist and years later, after have
been graduated, I heard about the Pilates method and I discovered
its benefits on my own body, so I trained to become a Pilates
teacher and ever since I have been working on rehabilitation using
the Pilates Method.
WHAT
IS PILATES?
The
Pilates Method developes body awareness, improving your strength,
flexibility, posture and stamina, engaging the core postural
muscles which are essential to keep the body balanced and to
provide support for the spine. It offers a great deal for everyone:
individuals that have not exercised for years and/or have injuries,
pre and post-natal women, adolescents, dancers and elite athletes,
people who enjoy practicing sports and fitness
activities...
Pilates exercises will help you to:
-strengthen and rebalance your muscles tone
-increase your flexibility and core stability
-enhance your figure and body shape
-get a better posture and joint alignment
-recover from and prevent further injuries
-improve your body’s ability to perform your daily and domestic
activities, as well as all kind of sports,
dance...
During all my classes I always attempt to develop a thorough
programme focused on the individual needs, working out hard -but
always safe-, in order to build and condition a well-balanced and a
healthy body.
